viral infections in children

Roseola infantum: it is caused by human herpes virus 6. In this condition, the rash appears once fever disappears. The rash begins on the neck/ trunk and is uncommon on the palms.

coxsackie virus: it causes 1.  hand, foot, and mouth disease and 2. herpangina.

In herpangina, the ulcer is on the posterior oropharynx while it is in the anterior aspect in hand, foot, and mouth disease

How to distinguish whether vesicles on hand are caused by herpes (herpetic whitlow) vs Coxsackie?

in hand, foot, and mouth disease, vesicles are present on bilateral hands while it is unilateral in herpes. Lesions on the hand appear after autoinoculation from the mouth.
